April Gets Fooled (F/F)

(Happy First Day of April, everyone!)


It was a slow day at the news station. Reporter April O’Neil was sitting at her desk playing on her phone when her friend and colleague Irma Langinstein burst through the door.

“April! April! Big news!” Irma shouted.

Startled, April dropped her phone. “Agh! What? What’s happening?”
“Apparently, there’s some rumors that there’s a drug ring being ran downtown at that warehouse on Chesterfield Avenue. Thompson wants you to investigate it.”
“Ugh. Can’t I just say that I’m doing it but secretly send the Turtles to do it?”
“Doubt it. He wants photos. And he’ll know if it isn’t on your camera.”

April sighed and stood up. “Ugh, fine.”
“Great. Good luck, April,” Irma said before running out. April sighed and picked her phone back up, trying to calculate the odds of her getting captured on this mission. Probably...one outta two. Yea, that sounded about right.

When she arrived at the warehouse, April noticed the doorway was wide open. Peeking her head inside, she didn’t anyone inside. Suspicious, she crept inside and carefully walked around, trying to spot anything or anyone suspicious.

However, April wasn’t looking at the floor below her feet, where a circle of rope was placed. Upon stepping inside, the trap went off, causing April to be hung upside down several feet in the air.

“What the hell?!” April exclaimed. She tried to reach for the rope that had snagged her, but she couldn’t reach the knots. Suddenly, April heard laughter.

“Hahahahaha! You should’ve seen the look on your face, April!”

April knew that voice! Her suspicions were confirmed when the laughing figure came out from behind a stack of boxes, revealing herself to be none other than Irma Langinstein

“Irma! What the hell?! What are you doing?!”
“You’ll see,” Irma (who April just noticed was holding a roll of duct tape) replied. The secretary used one hand to force April’s wrists together and used the other to hold the tape as she wrapped the tape around and around April’s wrists. A minute later, April’s were mummified from fingertip to elbows!

“Irma, what is all of this?! Did you turn evil or something?’
“Nope! You, April, are the victim of the greatest April Fools prank ever!”

April blinked. “Uh, did you just say that this is an April Fools prank?”
“Uh-huh!”
“Irma...it...is...JULY!”
“I know.”
“Then why the hell would you pull an April Fools prank three months late?!”
“To make it more of a shock! No one would suspect an April Fools prank being pulled on them three months after the holiday!” Irma proudly explained.
“You. Are. Insane! Now let me down from here or so help me, I will-MMPH!” April shouted as several strips of tape were plastered over her mouth, drowning out her complaints.

“What was that? Can’t hear ya,” Irma taunted before taking the Turtlecom from April’s pocket. “I gotta get back to work. Don’t worry; I’ll let your reptile friends know where you are...in about an hour. See ya!” With that, Irma was gone.

April let out a groan. Her hands were in front of her, but since her hands and fingers were mummified in tape, there was no way to pick away at her bonds or remove her tape gag. It looked like, as usual, she was stuck until the Turtles freed her.

All in all, this was the worst April Fools prank performed on her in July ever.
