Re thinking my writing.

Post by Janbound »

I have written two types of story. One is adult, usually me or my alter ego being tied up by other women. The other is teenaged children thing themselves up or being tied up by older women. There is never any sex in the second class, but lots of sexual innuendo if not actual physical stimulation in the first.

Unfortunately, some people seem unable to separate the two, and despite my younger characters never thinking of sex, some people can not separate the tie up from sexual innuendo.

I shall no longer wire stories about children.

It is with some regret I have to say, Izzy, Sadie , the Mumbot, and other characters will have no further adventures.

I'm looking forward to reading that new linked story above :!: But first, allow me a little rant of my own in what I hope will come across as supportive and not dismissive @Janbound.

You raise an interesting issue around what I've heard in literary circles as being referred to as "authorial intent". For myself, I find it frustrating that in the mind of almost every single "vanilla" person not into tie-up games, as well as for most people into tie-up games, such games are considered sexual or sexually titillating, and therefore even if it is just kids having innocent fun, playing make-believe even if real ropes are used, the innuendo that is in most beholders' eyes becomes the inescapable (and I'd say non consensual) bondage into which the author is thrust. But I can't blame those readers.

Basically, whatever the intent of us authors might be in the stories we write, once they are made publicly available (I wouldn't go as far as saying we are publishing them on here), it is up to the reader to interpret them to their liking and fill in their perceived gaps in story with their own imagination. Bondage = kink = sex is an equation many readers (too many to my beholder's eyes taste) make. For people who make that equation, there is no such thing as 'innocent' tie-up games as they see even the simplest of tie-ups as 'gateway' into kinky 'bondage games.

Yet, that equation is understandable even from the perspective of us authors who try high and hard not to have sexual innuendo in some of our stories. While I cannot speak for all of us here on this site who were into TUGs as kids, and for whom those early TUGs had nothing sexual about them -- and as I've commented before on another thread, my own sexual awakening during puberty nearly ruined TUGs for me -- I cannot deny that those early innocent TUGs have indeed been formative and evolved into becoming an integral part of my sexuality as an adult.

Coming to the same realization that "some people can not separate the tie up from sexual innuendo" has gotten me into a similar position where I am now very reluctant to continue, if not outright willing to give up on, my own stories involving non-adults.

As with everything else 'human', it is messy and complex.

Very sorry to hear that @Janbound. I really loved your stories. But I respect your decision and you will still have a reader here

It was a tough decision to make because ironically I liked how children can play consensual TUGs with no need for sec.,Adults it’s much harder to keep, sex out of tie ups without making it a Robert or kidnap.

Sucks, and a shame that you've decided to step back from the whole genre of 'For Everyone' TUGs writing.

Like you I write and post both kinds of stories, the adults and an occasional foray into something which usually revolves around schoolgirls, with or without a dose of the supernatural thrown in.

There's always innuendo, hints and inner thoughts, I don't see this as wrong. There's a line, it's clear where and so long as you don't cross all is well. But I can see the counter points too, @tiedinbluetights argument, well made.

Ultimately it's for each of us to choose.

I realise you've made your choice, but I'm offering solidarity anyway, because I'll still post schoolgirl stuff, as and when the idea/mood takes me.

I will echo what the esteemed @RopeBunny said. I just ignore the comments that step over the line. It's usually one or two users on every thread anyway. (Y'all already know who I'm talking about.) But hey, you do you.
I love to chat and roleplay. DMs are open.

Esteemed :) sounds good.

Echoing this, which I forgot to add. I too have had comments on my 'Everyone' stories, on occasion. People unnecessarily warning- and maybe they were genuinely attempting to be helpful -me to take care with the direction of certain scenes, or people flat out telling me I'm overstepping.

A good example would be a girls inner monologue, already tied up and down to a bra and pants, worrying or perhaps being openly teased towards the fact of being further stripped. Now, there's nothing wrong with pointing the story in this direction, hinting at her becoming naked and all the associated panic and nerves. Doesn't mean you actually intend to write it. There are plenty of- fun -ways to stop such an event from actually taking place :)

I tend to respond to those kinds of comments in this vein, pointing out that hinting isn't crossing that drawn line.

@Janbound, going off of what @tiedinbluetights and @RopeBunny have said...

I've been going through a revamp of my writing, albeit in a very different manner. I've been trying to eliminate all of the sexual innuendo from all of my stories, albeit for religious reasons. At the end of the day, there really are people who can enjoy bondage without going down the road towards kink and sexuality. It seems foreign to some sensibilities that it's possible to enjoy the sensations of being bound and gagged (and perhaps tortured or teased, depending on the person and the game).

Take DeviantArt, for an example. I posted one of my "Annie & Me" stories on there. It was a cute robbery-style roleplay with two half-sisters being the captives of one sister's mother. There was ham-fisted acting, feigned danger, and happiness all around. It was deleted by DA as child pr0n, and a strike was put on my account.

Now, in my stories, the characters in the "Stories for Adults" are mostly the same ones in the "Stories for Everyone," but the "Stories for Adults" are also such because they carry heavier themes (e.g. mortality, trauma) or feature rougher elements (e.g. breathplay) while still striving to break the link to sexuality.

It can be done, and I hope you will at least take the time to consider other options to better achieve your original aims. :)

It is bizarre, as the innocent children’s games, with or without adult, have no sexuality in them. But are nit acceptable

The adult games have raw sexuality. Somthat’s fine.
