Yes! The time has come for more poor souls to be sacrificed and sucked into the void.
The almighty forum gods (our cruel Admins) demand it!

WHAT ARE THE PERKS OF BEING A MODERATOR?
Keeping those dirty peasants in line!
None -_- Just slaving away, doing ungrateful volunteer work.



WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR BEING A MODERATOR?
* Having an Internet connection. Duh!
* Logging in on a regular basis (ideally at least once a day, except when you're away on vacation. Yes, mods have lives too!).
* Being moderately tech savvy. Enough to navigate the forum and use the tools already at your disposal. Eg: tagging users, sending PMs, editing your own posts, proper use of the quoting feature, knowing how to post photos, etc.
* Patience! LOTS and lots of patience!


CANDIDATE PROFILES THAT WE WILL PRIORITISE
+ Longtime active members (1+ years)
+ Good amount of posts (100+)
+ Story writers (especially ones who've published a story/chapter in the past year or so)
+ Positive attitudes!

* Previous discussion board moderation experience is an asset, but not a necessity.



HOW TO APPLY FOR THE POSITION?
Easy! Interested applicants need only apply by sending a PM to @Solarbeast, @cj2125, @Xtc and myself (all four of us in a single PM) stating your interest in joining the team. By doing so, you'll have successfully proved two things. 1: that you can follow instructions. 2: That you're familiar enough with forum functions to send a PM to four recipients at the same time

I'd also like to point out that helping the forum by joining the moderation team isn't a lifetime commitment. The role is neither permanent, nor particularly time-consuming. In fact, the bigger the team, the less demanding it is for each member involved. There's no taboo or shame in being a moderator for a time, only to take a backseat and/or resign when/if life circumstances change and time management becomes a priority. As explained, it's not a permanent commitment. It's just volunteer work.


Basic moderation duties mostly revolve around the following tasks:

- Approving/disapproving posts from newly registered users who are still on probation.
- Keeping an eye out on new stories and making sure they're all gender-tagged.
- Dealing with reported posts/pms in a reasonably timely manner.
- Removing inappropriate content that breaks the community rules.
- Mediating/resolving the occasional conflicts that inevitably arise on forums like these.
- Occasionally exchanging with fellow mods on the best way to resolve above-mentioned conflicts.
- Removal of spammers, nuisances and other related pests.
