My Mirror Image (?/m)

I brushed wax through my hair to tidy it up. I had to be somewhat presentable in class. I looked into the mirror glued to my closet. I had been happier. There was no PE today, only English, Spanish, mathematics… All sounded awfully tiring.
“Why am I forced to do this? Why can’t I stay in bed all day?†I mumbled in the mirror. I wanted to sleep and play games all day. That sounded like a better way to waste a day on this planet.
I grimaced. I had to hurry. I still had to grab breakfast before the bus left.
“Can’t you do go for me?†I told my mirror image foolishly as I turned around, slinging my heavy backpack over my shoulder.
Of course, that is impossible. It was a reflection. Nothing more.
I took one last glance in the mirror before opening the door.
Wait? Did my mirror image not carry my bag?
I turned around. He still stood there with crossed arms like a video game hero in a character selection menu. That was weird. I was scratching my head.
Ignoring and moving on would have been a wise decision. Mine, approaching the glass and staring at the smiling teenage boy inside, had been a critical mistake.
I was even more stupid. I put my hand on the mirror to verify that what I saw was real. My mirror image reached out, laying his palm against mine. He held it there for a second and pressed further, pushing his arm out of the glass. He stepped out.
“Should I go to high school today?†he queried. His voice was mine, but how it sounded in videos and not in my head. He wore the same clothes as me and had a phone and wallet in his pockets. Mine were also still in mine. All were mirrored, but only the tiny brand markings betrayed this.
I pinched myself to check what I was seeing and nodded. I could stay home and game all day.
“Great!†the creepy version of myself smirked. He stuck his hand in my sock drawer and pressed the dark blue pair in my wide-open mouth. He was me but ten times stronger. I stood no chance as he grabbed a t-shirt, ripped it apart, and used it to press the cotton deeper between my jaws. I screamed, but with the socks, shirt, and hand pressed against my mouth, little sound left. “Then allow me to go school.â€
My body froze. He flung me on the bed like my sister’s doll. He jumped on me, pinned me down with one hand, and tore the sheets into pieces. He rounded them around my wrists behind me, stretching the fabric and making it bite into my skin. He cinched and completed the knot roughly.
My legs got a similar treatment. It was anything but friendly. I had released a monster, and there was nothing I could do. The white linen kept my limbs secure. In silence – my parents and sisters were rowdily devouring their breakfast downstairs – he bent my legs backward and tied them to my wrists. My back curved rearward.
“Time to have some fun,†the reflection spoke menacingly, slapping his hand against my helpless cheek. After he covered me with my blanket, he grabbed my backpack and left me. Alone.
I heard the two cars leave the driveway, and someone with my voice guided my sister to the bus stop. She sounded happy and unsuspecting. They would be back in nine hours. I hoped.
I do not know what that hellish version of me would do.
