Ruben Rage vs. Them All (M/M)

Hi I'm Ruben Doe, this is me...

Image

and this is the story of How I defeated my boyfriends evil exes, yeah, defeated and yeah, evil...

Lets see, where should we start... ok yeah...

Time seemed to freeze as I saw the tall dark handsome stranger enter the book shop.

Porno music started playing in my mind as I watched the man walking down the middle aisle, heading straight for me. To be quite honest with you, I've done this exact scene like a hundred times, I usually opt for the dance club but book shop is right up there in the top three fantasies. No matter the location, the fantasies are always with him... Hiram the delivery guy. The man of my... in my dreams.

Image

Hiram licked his lips and said "Hey . I'm here for you."

Somehow, today I stood frozen. I didn't react at all, I felt a cold sweat break out on my forehead. He was different today? Something stirred behind his eyes.

"Hiii, hello?" He waved his hand in front of my eyes.

"RUBEN!" shouted Howard... this snapped me out of my porno trance. Howard is my platonic straight roommate and Co owner of the Bookworm.

Image

We live together, work together, eat together, gym together, take the train together, I mean, you get it right... best pals.

"Huh. Oh. Hi Hiram. Or Hi Rim. Or..." I felt sick in my stomach. That was stupid.

"Hi Rim. I get it." He smiled at me, which only made me feel even worse. "You gonna sign for this?" he asked handing me the clipboard.

Howard leaned over, "Don't mind him. This is just one of his top fantasies, like I'd say top three... You're the hot delivery guy from his dreams."

IN... in my dreams. I felt myself shrinking to the size of a peanut as Hiram looked back over at me. "Oh yeah... well what happens in these fantasies?"

Remind me later to yell at Howard!

"I uhm. You uh. We..."

"You fuck him over there" chimed Howard pointing to the young adult fiction section.

What the actual fuck Howard! I gave him a death stare then slowly turned back to Hiram. "Excuse my very forward friend. He never learned manners at the school for straight guys. I'll sign for the delivery, its the true crimes delivery right?"

"Oh I don't mind actually, I'm kinda curious to hear this fantasy of yours. Wanna get a coffee some time?"

"Some time... yeah... I'd uh..."

"Your break starts right about now"

Fuckit Howard!

"Yeah. I guess now is some time... right?"

"Right. Well you are my last delivery too so let's grab that coffee and you can tell me all about our bookshop adventures."

I placed my signature and handed Hiram his clipboard. He smiled, "Great. I'm gonna drop this on my bike and meet you next door." Hiram left the bookshop and I shuffled after him.

After getting our drinks in silence, I got a creamy raspberry tea. Hiram got a tall latte. We started walking down the street, more silence...

Hiram broke the tension, "Soo, how does the fantasy usually go? Do we like get coffee, and walk in silence?"

"Uhm. No we uh... you deliver some stuff and we end up testing said stuff."

"Oh yeah. What stuff?"

The cold sweat was back. I stopped walking "Look Hiram, I don't know what got into Howard today but you don't need to be nice about this. You can totally blow me off."

"Is that what I do in your fantasy, do I blow you off?" Hiram stepped closer to me, our lips a few inches apart.

I wanted to turn, scream like a little girl and run away but I couldn't, Hiram's eyes held me in place.

"Do we kiss?"

Fuck you Howard for getting me into this but I'm fucking doing this. Time to man up Ruben. A large Silverback gorilla beat its chest in my imagination giving me some confidence.

"Actually you have a gag shoved in your mouth. A nice big red ball gag."

"Yeah? Kinky"

"Yeah. And you're wearing a tight leather jockstrap, holding your manhood in place as your limbs are stretched apart and eager for my exploration."

Hiram stepped back ever so slightly, "that's hot man. At least one piece of your fantasy is real." Hiram lowers the waistband of his working slacks, revealing the shiny black leather beneath. "My turn to tell you about my dreams? I didn't just happen to walk into your bookstore today! I think this is fate..."

Meanwhile across the street a security camera changes its angle to view the two guys standing close together. And somewhere in a dark basement a sinister voice says "Hmmm... Hiram you naughty naughty boy. You know before you can date anyone they need to face off against your Evil Exes. Peter should be on his way over as we speak."

Loving the Scott Pilgrim homage, the incredibly cute characters, the extremely sexy fantasy-come-true situation, and the anticipation of what's to come! Looking forward to more!

Adorable and quirky, I can't wait to meet the evil exes, and inevitably their bondage themed duels!

Finally got around to adding a piece to this... i hope its fun. Some light bondage in this update but we'll get to more serious stuff this is just first time jitters...

Ruben Rage vs Peter Toole

The air hummed with tension as Hiram and I stood there, his leather jockstrap confession still echoing in my head. My brain was stuck on a loop of “Did he just say that?” when a shadow stretched across the pavement, dark and sharp like a panel ripped from a graphic novel.

Peter stepped into view—tall, lean, and dripping with sleaze. His slicked-back hair gleamed under the sun, and his black trench coat hung heavy on his frame, swaying slightly as he twirled a pair of nunchucks. He looked like a villain who’d spent too long perfecting his smirk in the mirror.

“Peter,” Hiram muttered, his playful grin fading. He nudged me back a step. “Ruben, stay cool. This might get weird.”

“Weird?” I stammered, clutching my half-empty tea cup like it was a shield. “Who’s Peter?”

“Evil Ex Number One,” Hiram said, eyes locked on the guy. “He’s… persistent.”

Peter stopped a few feet away, cracking his neck with a slow, deliberate pop. “Hiram, Hiram, Hiram,” he drawled, voice smooth and mocking. “You didn’t think you could just waltz into some nerd’s bookshop fantasy without consequences, did you? You know the rules.”

“Rules?” I blinked, my brain scrambling. “What rules? Is this a delivery guy union thing?”

Peter’s gold tooth glinted as he grinned at me. “Oh, you’re cute. Hiram didn’t tell you? Before anyone dates him, they’ve gotta face us—his Evil Exes. I’m the opening act!”

I laughed—a nervous, hiccupy sound. This had to be a joke, right? Like something Howard would cook up to mess with me. But Peter’s smirk didn’t waver, and Hiram’s grip on my arm tightened.

“Wait, wait, wait,” I said, waving my free hand. “You’re serious? I have to battle you? For a coffee date?”

“Battle, bribe, or beg,” Peter replied, spinning his nunchucks into a blur. “Pick one, Bookworm. Begging’s pathetic, though.”

Hiram leaned close, his breath warm against my ear. “He’s all talk unless you challenge him. Just… don’t back down. I’ve got your back.”

“Great,” I mumbled, my stomach flipping. “My first date’s gonna end with me in a hospital or a dumpster.”

Peter lunged, and the nunchucks in his hands shimmered, stretching impossibly into long, thin chains—black and glossy, like they’d been polished for this exact moment. They whipped through the air with a sharp crack, snaking toward Hiram. In a heartbeat, they coiled around him—first his wrists, binding them tight behind his back, then looping down to his ankles, pulling his legs together. The chains gleamed as they cinched, hugging his body like a lover who wouldn’t let go. He stumbled, crashing to his knees, the links clinking as he strained against them.

“Ruben!” Hiram grunted, his voice muffled as he tugged at the restraints. His delivery uniform stretched across his chest, the fabric taut where the chains bit in. “He’s playing dirty!”

“Always do,” Peter said, turning to me with a leer. “Your move, newbie.”

I froze, my mind blank. Fight? Me? I couldn’t even win an argument with Howard over who ate the last Pop-Tart. Peter stepped closer, the leftover chains dangling from his hand, swaying like a promise. My heart thudded, and I did the only thing I could think of—I chucked my tea at him. It wasn’t bravery; it was panic. The creamy raspberry splattered across his face, pink and sticky, dripping down his chin.

“Gah!” Peter yelped, pawing at his eyes. “What the hell?!”
I flailed, tripping over my own feet as I lunged—not at him, but at the edge of his trench coat, which had flared out like a cape. My fingers snagged the heavy fabric by dumb luck, and I yanked, more to steady myself than anything else.

Peter spun, off-balance from the tea blinding him, and the coat twisted around his arms. The sleeves tangled, pinning his elbows back, and the long tails flapped wildly as he thrashed.

“Get off me!” he snarled, stumbling forward. The chains in his hand swung loose, and—by some miracle—caught around his own legs as he tripped. They wrapped tight, cinching his ankles together in a messy knot of metal and leather. He hit the ground with a thud, cocooned in his own coat, arms locked behind him. The fabric stretched across his chest, buttons straining, as he wriggled helplessly.

I stared, panting, my hands still gripping the coat. Some half-remembered knot-tying trick from a camping book I’d skimmed once kicked in—I grabbed the coat’s waistband, fumbling as I twisted it into a clumsy knot. I pulled it tight, securing his hands behind his back. The thick fabric creaked, holding firm as he squirmed harder, his fingers flexing uselessly.

“Uh… did I do that?” I muttered, stepping back from the mess I’d somehow made.

Hiram, still bound, let out a choked laugh. “Ruben, you’re a disaster. A hot disaster.”

Peter glared up at me, tea-smeared and furious. “This doesn’t count! You tripped into a win, you little—”

“Shut it, Pete,” Hiram snapped, wriggling against his own chains. They hugged him tighter, the links glinting as they pressed into his thighs. “He beat you. Let it go.”

I shuffled over to Hiram, fumbling with the chains. My hands shook as I tugged at them, the cold metal slipping through my sweaty fingers until they finally loosened. He stood, rubbing his wrists where faint red lines lingered, and shot me a grin. “Not how I pictured being tied up today, but you made it work.”

“I… I didn’t mean to,” I said, still dazed. “I just threw tea and fell into his coat.”

“Luck’s a skill,” Hiram replied, clapping my shoulder. “Come on, let’s get you a new tea. You earned it.”

Peter groaned from the pavement, squirming in his tangled prison. “This isn’t over, Bookworm! The others won’t trip over their own damn clothes!”

“Yeah, sure,” I muttered, stepping over him as Hiram steered me away. My legs wobbled, but his arm around me felt steady—and way too warm for my frazzled brain to handle.
As we walked off, I glanced at Hiram, my curiosity finally kicking in past the shock. “So, uh… how’d you even meet a guy like Peter?”

Hiram chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “Ancient East Asian weapons. We bonded over them—nunchucks, katanas, shurikens, you name it. He’d spend hours polishing those chains, talking about samurai honor codes. I was into it too—thought it was sexy, you know, the whole warrior vibe. Turns out he’s just a nutjob with a flair for drama.”
I snorted, picturing them geeking out over ninja gear. “Guess that explains the nunchuck-chains. You two must’ve been a sight.”

“Yeah,” Hiram said, smirking. “Until he tried to use them on me outside the bedroom. Lesson learned.”

I laughed, shaking my head as we rounded the corner. Behind us, Peter’s muffled curses faded, but I couldn’t shake the feeling of eyes on my back.

Somewhere, the creepy basement voice was probably laughing, lining up the next ex. But for now, I’d stumbled into a win—and Hiram’s smile was worth every second of the chaos.

It's amazing to see you continue this!

The action in this chapter was great and I love how Ruben won by accident! :D Hiram found a great guy at last. Can't wait to see how the rest of his evil exes will be handled and whether that jockstrap will make its return.
