Yeah, not especially common but I've heard it occasionally. I think it is stemming from the disgust/retch meaning and just mutated into a more generic surprise. I think it's definitely more common in certain subcultures/groups/scenes so not too surprising you wouldn't have heard it used like that ...

It's alright, it works for some specific use cases. Basically it sticks to itself, but not hair or skin. Most common use is probably for taping people up while naked, for intimate purposes. But if you want a strong, difficult-to-escape tie, it's not very good for that.

I've tried spanking from both ends and I do enjoy it, at least to some extent; my own pain tolerance isn't incredible and I always worry about being too hard with someone else. Conversely, there are some people out there who can get pretty extreme with it, which isn't my style.
